Eriksson is a place based visual artist who works within landscapes characterized by conflicts of interests. These conflicts are related to deep time, problems of the present and ideas about the future, sometimes named "wicked problems".
The artist explores maps and documents together with activities relating to phenomena in the landscape. The field work is combined with studio work, where collective and personal memory fragments are forged into visuals and sometimes story based result on both hope and grief.
The result invites to explore feelings in relation to the liability of an irreversible past and visions of the future, art as an act of listening, response and enduring.
Former full Professor in Art Education and with a Doctor of Philosophy in Design at the Faculty of Fine, Applied and Performing Arts, and with a bachelor and master's degree in Fine Art, Valand School of Fine Art, 2000 at University of Gothenburg, Sweden.
In 2019 she was a visiting Fellow at Arizona State University teaching the topic course “Experimental Art in Public Space” at School of Art (SOA) at Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts (HIDA). She has exhibited in Sweden, Finland, Germany, UK and the USA.
The artist is a founder of and co-runs Vague Research Studios, a platform for experimental artistic collaborative projects.
